Halloween Decorating Made Easy

We love Halloween! There are just so many great ways to decorate for Halloween. We always have our large pots by the front door stuffed with colorful fall mums and pumpkins. Then for the final touch we choose really colorful Halloween garden flags and display them in the pots. Halloween flags add texture and become the center of our outdoor display.
The Minnesota Arboretum is one of my favorite spots each fall. You'll
find lots of creative ideas for your yard and garden. It's also a peaceful
setting to walk and enjoy our beautiful fall colors.

REcycled Fabric Flags Now Available

Decorative Flags go GREEN. How does a water bottle become a flag? Flags On A Stick is pleased to join Toland Home Garden in offering a collection of REcycled fabric flags. PET products are melted and spun into fiberous stands and then woven into fine synthetic cloth. REcycled fabric flags save 6-8 plastic bottles from our landfills. Toland's efforts to act responsibly by reducing their packaging and utilizing REcycled materials in their decorative flags has been well-received by our customers. These beautiful Toland Flags are sublimated printed in the USA on 600 denier polyester with superior dye processing that produces flags with vibrant colors and detail. Many homeowners enjoy decorating their outdoor garden decor with holiday and seasonal flags, and many have commented how much they like the new REcycled flag designs.

REcycled fabric flags include a collection of whimsical summer flags, as well as flags featuring artwork by John James Audubon. This partnership with the National Audubon Society provides a selection of distinctive flags which include all your favorite birds -- just in time for spring. Each flag has extraordinary detail and style. Our favorites include Northern Cardinals, Anna's Hummingbird and Painted Bunting. You will enjoy having a large variety of decorative flags to enhance your outdoor garden decor.

Featured Artist Bernadette Deming

Bernadette Deming was born and raised in New York, where she currently resides. She and her husband, Marty, live on 100 peaceful acres surrounded by wildlife. She loves spending time with her three children and their friends. She prefers the simpler things in life and enjoys decorating with twigs and bird nests, eggs and leaves, and things from nature. Bernadette’s hobbies are bird watching and gardening.

Bernadette's artwork is featured on many decorative items for your home. This Thanksgiving Decorative Flag with beautiful fall colors will add charm to any home. Note the classic design, yet Bernadette's approach to primitive art has a unique style with an updated twist that appeals to a broad audience. Homeowners love the idea of decorating with items that have primitive themes because they are timeless.

Bernadette has painted all of her life and remembers painting on stones when she was a child. At the age of twelve, she participated in her first craft show and has been creating things ever since. Bernadette likes to sculpt clay Santas and snowmen, but her true passion is painting. Her artwork is best described as American primitive. She enjoys painting with acrylics and she looks forward to developing new ideas and having a ball painting! Bernadette looks for inspiration everywhere and tries to find humor and whimsy in everyday life.

Our Favorite Apple Orchard

The change of seasons is upon us. With that change comes opportunities to tour apple orchards and pumpkin farms. Here in Minnesota one of our favorite outings includes the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum where walking paths are abundant with fall colors. The Arboretum AppleHouse is open Sept. 1 - Nov 3, Daily 10 a.m.- 6 p.m. Choose from 50 varieties of apples throughout the season.
The hundreds of volunteers at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum update their outdoor decor for all the seasons and holidays. The Arboretum will inspire you to personalize your own outdoor decor with pumpkins, baskets of fall gourds, mums, and colorful autumn decorative flags. One of our favorites fall flags is Autumn Apples House Flag. This flag features brilliant fall colors with apples, oak leaves and acorns. It's a perfect fall flag to display on any home.

Featured Artist Judy Buswell

Judy Buswell is our featured artist this week. Her decorative flags are popular with homeowners who desire a sophisticated style. This Fall Decorative Flag entitled "Red Barn" is one of her newest designs.

The majority of Buswell's artwork features flowers or gardens -- a universally appealing theme that accounts in part for her vast and growing popularity. But there is more to it than that. People love her art for the vividness of her colors; the familiarity or nostalgia the images evoke, and the sense that the images come straight from the heart.

Decorative outdoor decor is increasing in popularity. Homeowners enjoy the ability to personalize their homes. Seasonal and holiday decorative flags are the newest trend in garden decor, featuring designs by some of our nation's best artists. Homeowners enjoy changing flag designs and adding coordinating Magnetic Mailbox Covers and Windsocks to provide eye-catching elements.
